Many years ago, I came to an important realization: no matter how well our team designed a system and crafted it to be user-friendly, we could not assume that people would actually use it as intended. It became clear to me that there was an additional layer of complexity at play that significantly influenced the overall success of our efforts. If the individuals who were expected to use the system—or who were in any way impacted by it—were not taken into account in a comprehensive manner throughout the entire process, the risks associated with a failed implementation would rise dramatically. This critical consideration falls under the broader umbrella of organizational change management.
